Welcome from the Pastor
Welcome! I’m glad you’ve stopped in to visit us. FPC Tyler is a warm, friendly, caring community of faith, deeply rooted in our Presbyterian and Reformed heritage. Then again, this could describe many churches. For us, this description is more than just nice words.
To be warm, friendly, and caring is a way of demonstrating hospitality after the example of Jesus Christ. We try our best (but of course sometimes fail) to let our actions be a demonstration of the character of the God whom we know through Jesus Christ, a God who welcomes strangers, who loves the widow and the orphan, who provides even for the sparrow, and who counts even the hairs on our heads.
To be Presbyterian and Reformed means a way of living out the Christian faith in a particular (some might even say a peculiar!) way. To be Reformed and Presbyterian for us means to be a part of a community that cares deeply about the world around us, because we understand God to be a God who cares, not just for our souls, but for every part of human life. We also believe that none of us has a corner on the Truth, and therefore, all are welcome here, for we are an open, inquisitive community of believers.
If you feel called to find out more about us, we would be pleased to have you visit us any time. Feel free to contact us to ask any questions you have. We’d love to hear from you!
